Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q:What should I do if I have been in a car accident?

A:Call the police and have an accident report completed.

  • Q:Will I have to pay an attorney if I lose my personal injury or workers’ compensation case?

A:At our firm, with regards to the representation of clients in personal injury and workers’ compensation cases, we work on a contingency basis. Therefore, if you do not recover, we do not charge you a fee.

  • Q:Do I need an attorney if I have been injured?

A:While it is ultimately your decision, unless you regularly engage in personal injury or workers’ compensation law, it is almost impossible for you to know the true value of your case. Every case is different and certain factors could change the outcome of your claim. Once we are retained, we advise our clients and inform them on what we believe is a reasonable value based on the hundreds of cases that we have handled and based on the circumstances revolving around their claim. At the conclusion of almost every case, our clients have shared with us that they received much more than what was initially offered to them by the insurance company.

  • Q:If I am injured in a car accident that was caused by another driver, what am I owed?

A:Again, each case is different, but typically you have a right to recover payment for your medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering.

  • Q:If I am injured while working, what benefits am I entitled to?

A:If you are injured during the scope and course of your employment, you may be entitled to a weekly income payment, medical expenses (including a portion of your travel expenses for medical treatment), and a permanent partial disability payment, as they relate to that particular injury.

  • Q:At your firm, will I be able to communicate directly with my attorney about my case?

A:Yes. While we have a staff that assists the attorney, they make themselves accessible to clients and clients have the option of contacting the attorneys directly at the office, by email or via cell phone.

  • Q:What happens after I hire The Fowler Firm to represent me in my personal injury case?

A:The most important thing for an injured client is for them to get well. While we will communicate with you as necessary, we will continue to obtain information while you are under the care of your physician or doctor. You will keep us up to date with your treatment and we will work on resolving your case when we agree that the time is right.

  • Q:What if I do not have health insurance or if I do not want to bill my health insurance for treatment as it relates to my injuries from a car accident caused by another driver?

A:If you do not have health insurance or if you do not want to bill your health insurance, you should not be deterred from pursuing a personal injury claim. This does NOT kill your case. Feel free to consult with us on how this can be handled, as we have dealt with these types of issues on numerous occasions.
